Wind Dancer 06 Cruise page 2

Brakey Bay

Brakey Bay

We stayed one day at Brakey and then proceeded to Thwartway Island (aka Leek Island) in the

St. Lawrence Islands National park and picked up a park mooring for three days.

Harbor at Thwartway. Dinghy landing and self-registration dock on shore.

Thwartway harbor. Wind Dancer is behind the rafted power boats. They're only

picniking and swimming for an hour or so.

Another of the harbor.

Diane. The island is a solid dome of beautiful pink granite. Thwartway is in the

Thousand Islands. It used to be called "Leek Island" and still is on the charts.

We walked and hiked over most of the island. There is only one trail to a small bay

beach on the W side that is used by power boats picniking.

The W side is windswept and desolate.
